The Corsair RMx series is my preferred PSU for mid-range and high-end builds given their general affordability and overall reliability.

    Pros:

    • performance; Cybenetics-certified Platinum Efficiency / A+ Noise rating
    • 100% Japanese 105 °C capacitors
    • 10-year manufacturer’s warranty

    Cons:

    • price; sometimes overpriced compared to similarly performant power supplies.
    • stock cables; bulky, stiff, and ugly; sleeved aftermarket cables are recommended.

Supplies power through modular cables, has great cable port selections. My only complaint are the split/shared/daisy chained(?) PSU cables. They are probably fine for most applications but pumping that much juice in to a 7900XTX sketches me out.

Still a fine PSU, with cablemod cables, actually two separate kits.

Reliable, efficient under load. When under a full stress test, CPU and GPU, I have pulled over 780 watts and not one problem with overclocking

For pure performance, this thing is a 5 star PSU. It's great and quiet. Nothing more to be said there.

But for building... the in-cable caps were a nightmare. Chunky and inflexible and just a general nightmare. I went with this to have a bit more power available and because my Super Flower Leadex III 750w Gold order got delayed by bad weather.

Interesting note: this PSU does not work with shucked WD drives. Had to use the kapton tape hack.

As everyone has to state, "overkill"..... but makes for easy assembly, and you can rest assure it's going to provide enough power for your build, as well as additions down the road. My only bugaboo with this unit is the cabling they send along with it. The ends of the connections have about 2-3" of a stiff rubber sleeve, which is incredibly firm (on both of the GPU cables the story was the same). This made the cabling to my GPU look odd, and I am planning on swapping out some of the cables provided. Cables come in a cool Corsair carrying bag.

Performs great. Cables are good. Wish it was a tad smaller.

Considering the price I paid for it, simply excellent.
