Description

Planning on using this for gaming and some content creation! First build so I wanted to make something I'd be happy with for a while. Planned the aesthetics of the build around the case and wanted something clean. I love how it turned out!

Part Reviews

CPU

So far it's been fantastic! No issues here, can handle everything I've needed to do.

Motherboard

Had some issues with a loose USB port for the front I/O panel of the case, but other than that, really clean looking board! Wifi included is convenient, but I couldn't get the wifi to work on windows 10. No issues since I upgraded to windows 11.

Memory

Great! Not necessarily my first choice aesthetically, but I'm not mad. I got these from a friend so I can't complain!

Video Card

Super clean minimalist look and I'm really happy with performance!

Case

I saw this case a while back and I knew immediately that I wanted to build with it! I love the unique 45 degree angled glass panel as well as the overall striped design. It's a beautifully designed case with a great split design to keep the power supply unit, along with ample space for cable management and a fan hub, neatly tucked away in the back. It feels surprisingly spacious, and looks super clean.

Case Fan

Chose these fans to match the cooler fans. They look beautiful, are pretty quiet, and keep everything nice and cool. Daisy chaining is extremely easy and vastly simplified cable management! With the added benefit of the included rgb/fan controller hub and software, I'm very satisfied with the overall experience. I will say though that I had to purchase an extra set of ARGB cables in order to get everything efficiently plugged in to the hub, specifically for the for LED strip (which although not a Lian Li product, works very well with the hub).

Custom

Great strip, if fits perfectly into the filter grill on the floor. I stole this idea from blitzscrank! check out their build :)

What is your fan setup like? Which are intakes and exhaust? I would think that you aren't pulling in from the radiator, so presumably from the top set? TIA!

Edward4
  • 2 years 7 months ago

He is using the 2 radiator fans on the side as intake and the rest as exhaust. This is a negative pressure and may affect tempts but I don't think it is too bad as long as he doesnt defy convection. If u can't remember which are intake and which are exhaust remember the phrase faces suck. Because the front of the fan sucks air.

Actually they have it leaning more neutral with 4 intake and 4 exhaust. The hyte case comes with 2 fans in the housing below the gpu set to intake by default.

greenb3an
  • 2 years 7 months ago

That's right! I have 4 intake and 4 exhaust. I saw arguments for having radiator fans either way, but I figured it's better to pass cool air through the radiator even though the ambient temp inside the case might be a bit higher, and since hot air rises I thought it would be better to have intake on the lower parts of the case and exhaust closer to the top.

Gotcha. So to confirm, the two below the GPU are intake, as well as the radiators. The three up top and one in the back end are exhaust.

It would make sense to pull in that cold air to and through the radiator, especially since it's gonna get toasty inside anyways. I've usually had radiators pulling air out so this will be a new change for me.

you got it! I have 2 in the floor and 2 on the side mounted radiator as intake, and 1 in the back and 3 on the top as exhaust.

Wow! A first build getting a feature, nice job! I always love to see a nice white/silver theme build. I've never seen this case, it lokos amazing. Your custom cables also look really good. Who is the character in the case?

Alex.Van.Oostenbrugge
  • 2 years 6 months ago

looks great if your thermals aren't great, I would suggest moving your pc away from the wall or putting in the corner to give that radiator exhaust room to suck in that air.

congrats on the feature

Hi mate, love the build, where did you pick up the white cables?

cocosoy
  • 2 years 6 months ago

Very nice looking build! Quick question, the GPU you use is a 3-slot correct? Do you feel it pushes too close to the tempered glass and causes any heat concerns?

I am seriously considering this case and that's my only concern.

ocalderon
  • 2 years 6 months ago

Did you have any issues mounting the GPU? I get a warning when I put that GPU into part picker saying the case doesn't have enough expansion slots for that card

dylankilcoin
  • 2 years 6 months ago

I take it you used a fan hub for all of those fans? If so, can you please send me the link to it? I have the same fans and AIO as you so whatever you used should work. It would be a big help, thanks!

Hello mate, thinking of using this case with a 280mm cooler on the front side fan panel. What configuration have you got your fans throughout the case if you dont mind me asking? Thanks!

greenb3an
  • 2 years 3 months ago

Sorry I'm a bit late, haven't checked here in a while! I have 2 in the floor and 2 on the side mounted radiator as intake, and 1 in the back and 3 on the top as exhaust.

I really love your build and honestly makes me want to build in the Y60 even more now. One of the things I'm worried about is GPU thermals being so close to the glass. If you don't mind sharing, what are your average, under load, GPU temps and also what is your airflow orientation? Thank you!

SVENDEMAN100
  • 1 year 4 months ago

Perms are fine, using a 4090 gaming x slim (62mm) and temps aren't getting above 73C under load.

Thinking about making this build, if I replaced the 3070 with a 4060 AERO would that be fine size wise for the case and overall gpu wise is the 4060 good? I don’t have the money to get a 3070.

tysm I was worried the spear wouldn't fit (and it kind of doesn't fit as intended but we make it work)! it was between Kaworu or Rei, I might switch it up in the future.
